BJC Hospice- thank you so very much for making our Christmas a lot better. Jesus and the family were very happy for all the wonderful gifts. May God bless each and every one of you and everything you all gave us. People like you make the difference in this world and know if there is ever anything our family could do, let us know.

-----
Thank you very much for the cards and letters sent throughout the year, they really brighten up my day. We are so grateful for all you do and the friendly services you provide. Thanks again.
-----
To all of our hospice workers: Again, it was quick, but you guys are always great. Mother is happy to be with dad and her daughter, and best of all she is with her Lord.
-----
Thank you to all of you who helped take care of my son. You all are angels from God. I pray that you will be blessed. You are all blessed for what you do. I cannot thank you enough. I thank God for allowing my son to come home, for placing a bright star over my home and taking him home to be with him. I had him for 57 years and I had to give him back to the Lord. You will always be in my prayers.
-----
To all the kind and caring staff of BJC Hospice, thank you for the card and your loving comments. They are deeply appreciated. I've been having a rough time and this card is coming to you late. Just want you to know that God called back one of his angels. It was one of the greatest pleasures to be Susan's husband for 32 years. Right now its as if I'll never get over this, but your prayers and cards help. I thank you for the loving care you've shown us through all of this. Peace. Hope. Love.
-----
Your special ways and generous heart make a beautiful difference. Thank you.
-----
I just want to thank you all for helping us make my mom's final days as comfortable as possible. You are all doing such a great service.
-----
Thank you for helping my mother and keeping her comfortable during her last four days on Earth. She fought for 16 years with cancer and she was very strong and will be truly missed.
-----
About eight years ago my dad volunteered for BJC Hospice. He was a changed man! And his experience was a win-win situation all around. Up until his passing, that is all he would talk about. As a family we want to say "thank you" for taking him under your wings. While our dad was at Barnes-Jewish Hospital recovering from a fall at home, he passed away with numerous problems. Before his passing, I saw a new beautiful red and white afghan spread over his fragile body that hospice had given us. Thank you for your art work, love and support given to Dad during his parting days. Your staff was so accommodating and went above and beyond their daily jobs. In fact, Eileen worked all weekend to help us finalize our last few hours with dad. Thank you for being a great example and role model to the rest of us. Hopefully, one day we can pay it forward.
-----
A special note of thanks from my heart to all of you for what you do. You make a very sad and difficult time easier for family and loved ones. Your kind words and gentle touch mean so much. I am also a nurse and my dad used to say, "It takes a special person to do what you do." I believe that! But what you all do is even more special. I work with new babies, bringing them into the world and that's a special, wonderful time. But what you all do at the end of one's life is so very comforting. I felt my dad was being cared for by a family member and with love as were we. You will all be in our prayers for what you do.
-----
Dear staff of BJC Hospice: I received your very sweet sympathy card. I've had a really hard time grieving over my daddy. It’s harder than I could imagine. I've lost both parents, and nothing is the same. I haven't forgotten how helpful, kind and caring you all have been for my mom and dad. God bless you all.
-----
We want to thank you for you kind and able care of precious mother. Thank you is really inadequate to express how much we appreciate her wonderful team. I want to let you know that she enjoyed the music, loved the massages and the blankets too. Thank you for everything. You all were wonderful at this most difficult time.

I just wanted to write you a thank you note about one of your bereavement specialists, Taylor. My mom was in hospice with BJC Hospice and I first want to thank you for the loving care you gave her but also for the committed care you gave me through your bereavement program. The one-on-one counseling sessions at home were so helpful. Taylor was my counselor and from that very first meeting, she couldn't have been nicer. She is a wonderful listener and I felt comfortable telling her anything that was bothering me. Taylor understood my feelings and acknowledged them. She let me cry and heal, thank God. She offered suggestions and writing letters which were very helpful. She recommended a book called "Healing the Grieving Heart" which I have used many times and will continue to use it as needed. Before Taylor and I started talking, I didn't like being home alone. Now I am comfortable being home alone. I feel an inner peace and joy. My life is moving in the right direction. Taylor helped me find Good Orderly Direction, which is "God" back in my life. Thank you again for your help in grieving the loss of my mom and sending me Taylor.

BJC Hospice was wonderful to my mom and to the entire family. I just wanted to say "thank you" and we appreciate so much everything that was done for my mom. The nurses, Patricia and Nina were such a help and comfort for me, especially those days when I needed to know more about mom's car. God bless you for the wonderful service you provide.

BJC Hospice staff, thank you for your kindness and support. Your care and hospitality was professional and much appreciated. Without your guidance and help we would've been lost in how to handle this tough situation. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Your thoughts and prayers have been very comforting to me and my family. My sincere thanks for your wonderful support during these difficult months. My sister, Virginia, would always ask, "When is Nicole coming to see me?" She always looked forward to her visits. May God bless all of you for your wonderful service.

We would like to thank you for the compassion you showed to our family at the time of our father's passing. It was most comforting to us all to have things explained to us clearly, having received such excellent materials about the dying process and grief. Kimberly was outstanding and very helpful! Richard, the volunteer veteran, was awesome! He provided our family food for thought and even gave dad permission to die. Dad was buried with the American flag he gave him and had a military funeral with the taps and 21 gun salute. Dad would have been proud with his service. Thank you for making his last hours so meaningfu to us all.
~ Michael, Mark and Kathleen

Dear BJC Hospice staff, especially Efie and Sharon: My husband's grandmother was only on hospice for a few days before she passed away. My husband and I were there for her last days. During that time, Efie made a special trip out on a Saturday to help us. We could not be more grateful for her care and love. She truly is a remarkable person! When Grandma passed, Sharon came to take care of everything. She was amazingly professional and patient with us. We are eternally grateful for what all of these women have done for us. Thank you so much.
~ Angela

A special thanks to Stephanie, Beth and LaFonda for your support during John's last weeks.
~ Anne

Thank you so much for the support that you gave my sister at the end of her cancer journey.
~ Deanna
-----
Thank you for your total focused kindness whenever I would ask a question. It was an honor to get a glimpse of such a well-run organization. Especially, it was an honor to shadow and speak with so many of you. You really came across individually as professionals, and you listened and asked me questions. I will be able to draw on your example during future challenges.

-----
We just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone from hospice for their wonderful help and care for Debbie. Your kindness truly helped us through this very difficult time. Thank you for all you do.
-----
As I read the names and sentiments on your card...it touched my heart. I cry each day and I cried when I opened your card, partly because of the pain and partly because you took the time to care.
-----
I can only begin to express my gratitude for all you did for Liv and for me as we neared the end of our journey together. Every hospice employee performed with compassion and integrity. I cannot imagine surviving the last few months without your help. You went beyond just doing your job and I will always remember that.
-----
Thank you for your care during the last few days. He was at peace in his own home. We thank you for your deep appreciation and expression of sympathy.
-----
Your help and support was more than we ever expected. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
-----
You have been wonderful. In every way you were supportive and caring. Thank you and God Bless.

Dear Volunteers,
The blanket my mom received and the cards she gets from the kids brightens her day like you cannot believe. Mom has six kids, 18 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Children and Christmas are her most favorite things in the world. Yes, you guessed it....Christmas because of the children. I think it is so wonderful that these kids do these cards to brighten the days of so many. Hopefully, this donation will help buy more supplies.
Thank you so much to everyone involved in Samantha's Gift! My grandmother, Karen, was a BJC Hospice patient and she received a gift from Samantha's Gift at the end of her fight with ALS. The blanket she received really helped her through the final months here on this earth. I was talking with her about a month before her passing and I wanted to donate some blankets to hospice. Can you please let me know how I can do that so that I can bring more joy to the BJC Hospice patients in the St. Louis area. Thank you.

I cannot thank all of you enough for the care that you gave my mother over the years or the emotional support that you gave me. You all deserve gold stars!

I'm not sure how word this note other than to simply say "thank you" for aiding George in his move from this world on to the "other side of the river Jordan" as the song says. He had simply been subsisting for so long and it was not something I wanted him to continue doing and I'm guessing (since he could not tell me) that he didn't want to continue as well. I appreciate your time, your expertise and your caring spirit.
-----
This letter is 11 years overdue. You assisted us with the passing of Dad in 2001 and were there for us again at Mom's recent passing. Thanks to you we were able to respect their wishes and keep them in their home until their death. We couldn't have done it without you.
-----
To all the wonderful caregivers at BJC Hospice: Thank you so much for all of your words and all of the loving care that was given to Steve. Thanks for being there for us.

A day is made more beautiful when touched with kindness. Thank you so much for the care you gave my mother.
-----
Thank you so much for all of the joy you brought into our home and for your listening ears and patience. We couldn't have done it without you. Seems like forever since Mom's passing- I'm trying to think more like her, but big shoes to fill. God broke the mold when he made her. Stephanie, you are a treasure!
-----

It meant so much to me to have your guidance and support. We couldn't have done it without you. Because of you, dad was able to spend his remaining days in his own home and I was able to spend a ton of quality time with him. We had no doubt that each and every one of you are in the right profession. Thank you for all of your help.
Special thanks to nurse Efe for her encouragement and gentle nature as she helped me with the transition. The entire BJC Hospice staff was there when I needed you and your services are much appreciated.

How can I ever thank you enough. Thank you every one for being so loving and caring not just to my mother, but also to my dad and to my whole family. This last year has been rough but with the help from all of you, it has made it a lot easier. Every one has been so great and if there was no hospice I wouldn't know how families would make it through. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

I was very pleased with everyone that was on Earl's case, especially nurse Peg. Her visits were always so comforting to me and I think Earl was always happy to see her. It was very important to me take care of him. I loved him with all my heart and I thank God that he died peacefully in his own bed with me at his side.
Thanks to all the hospice staff that helped us with Doyle. You are all so kind and warm hearted. Your gentle ways made the whole process so much easier or shall I say more bearable. God bless you all.

I am normally never at a loss for words. But trying to find the words to say how I feel about BJC Hospice has been quite a challenge.
The best I can do is this. I have decided that the entire BJC Hospice gang that I worked with are not really human, but rather they are all angels sent from Heaven.
This includes the wonderful Erica, Judy, Laura etc. who always answered my panicked calls with compassion and reassurance. It includes Dorothy and our dearest Sylvia, the most caring and patient bath aids who allowed my husband to keep his dignity. It includes the nurses who went above and beyond; Sharon (amazing!) Peg, Debbie, and our "Miss Angela." They all helped with dignity, compassion, professionalism and heart, and a dose of humor when needed.
I won't forget the wonderful massage therapist Kelly. Thanks, Kelly, for your loving touch!
I must shout out praise for the most wonderful hospice volunteer, and now friend, Craig, who came every Thursday without fail. Our family adores him for the kindness he showed my husband and all of us. He is special beyond words. His calming presence let me leave for a few hours with no worries. It is an honor and priviledge to know him.
Now it is time for you to send these angels to another family who needs them, to help them through their own difficult time.
I am forever grateful as each and every one of you. You have touched my heart and will remain in my thoughts and prayers with gratitude forever.
Sincerely,
Judy

Mom and I were so fortunate to have encountered hospice. I have never met two more loving and proficient caregivers than Lawana and Olfa. They made Mom comfortable, and then they talked to me and made me comfortable. I was informed of everything and they knew exactly what to do. They went far and above their duty, and their care is such a good reflection of BJC. Our doctor insisted on BJC, and now I know why. I will recommend BJC Hospice to everyone who might need their service. My sister-in-law was in hospice in Florida and her nurses never came into her room to explain things to us.
